Users are legally responsible (K.S.A. 21‑3702) for materials checked out to them.  They will be asked to pay for materials that are lost or damaged. The amount will be determined by the librarian.  If an item is lost but still being looked for, no fine will be charged from the day the patron advises the library staff that he or she is looking for the item.

Waiting Lists

Users may request to be put on the waiting list for any circulating materials. Requests may be made in person or by telephone. Materials should be picked up promptly after notification.

Interlibrary Loan

Patrons may request materials not available in the Kinsley Library through interlibrary loan. Materials must be returned within the time the lending library designates. The borrower agrees to pay the lending library for any loss or damage that occurs to the borrowed material.

Public school personnel should secure materials for use in their classrooms through the Interlibrary Loan program in place in the school system.

There is no charge for Interlibrary Loan, but donations to defray postage costs will be accepted with appreciation.

 Video/DVD Policy

Nearly all of the videos owned by the Kinsley Public Library are protected by copyright for HOME USE ONLY and may not be copied. Patrons who check out videos/DVD's agree to abide by the copyright laws stated in the production.

Videos should be rewound and must be returned to the desk in the library and NOT in the book drop.

Users are asked NOT to leave video/DVD cassettes in an automobile where they could be subjected to extreme heat or cold.
