Noah Neilson reads “1000 Books Before Kindergarten”
The Kinsley Library is happy to announce that Noah Neilson has met the library goal of reading “1000 Books Before Kindergarten.”
He is the son of Richard and Stacy Neilson and brother to Aaliyah.
Noah is 3 years old and his favorite colors are blue and red. He loves playing with his backhoe in the dirt pile and going fishing with his family to catch catfish. He likes going to preschool and playing with his friends and seeing his teacher, Miss Burr.
To celebrate his achievement, Noah’s picture has been placed on the wall in the foyer of the library. Library Director Jessica Knoell also presented him with a copy of the book, Clifford The Big Red Dog-Puppy Preschool by Norman Bridwell. Noah chose this book for his “trophy” and it holds the record of reaching her goal.
The Neilson family is to be commended for encouraging reading even before their children start school. The “1000 Books Before Kindergarten” program is available at the library for any parent that wants to give their child this head start in learning. Parents simply put a check in a box on the bookmark every time they read a book. Now is a good time to start any baby or young child on the program.
