Is there life on another planet? If you go outside tonight and it is clear, you will be able to see a parade of planets. Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, Saturn and Venus will be strung out across the sky. You can imagine what it is like on them, and then do plan on coming to “Written in the Stars” for a scientific glimpse. Sherry Rogers, NASA Airborne Astronomy Ambassador, will tell us how the James Webb Space Telescope is revolutionizing our understanding of our closest cosmic neighbors. With its powerful infrared instruments, sharp spatial resolution, and exquisite sensitivity, the JWST is forever changing our view of our celestial backyard.
