Sawyer Hattrup Reads “1000 Books Before Kindergarten”

The Kinsley Library is happy to announce that Sawyer Hattrup has met the library goal of reading “1000 Books Before Kindergarten”. He is the son of Brandie and Dustin Hattrup and the brother of Lane, Mason, Cole, and Caleb. The whole family is very proud of him.
Sawyer is three years old and his favorite color is red. He enjoys playing with his toys with his brothers, especially the big legos, and the pedal tractor.
Sawyer also enjoys going to his Papa’s farm where he especially likes the tractors and combines. When he grows up he wants to mow like his dad.
To celebrate his achievement, Sawyer’s picture has been placed on the wall in the foyer of the library. Library director Jessica Knoell also presented him with a copy of the book See You Later, Alligator by Sally Hopgood. Sawyer chose this book for his “trophy” and it holds the record of reaching his goal.
The Hattrup family is to be commended for encouraging reading even before their children start school. The “1000 Books Before Kindergarten” program is available at the library for any parent that wants to give their child this head start in learning. Parents simply put a check in a box on a bookmark every time they read a book. Now is a good time to start any baby or young child on the program.
