KATP registration opens today! The 2026 Kansas Archeology Training Program field school will be hosted in Russell, Russell County, by the Kansas Historical Society and the Kansas Anthropological Association. This year, there will be the opportunity to work on materials and sites from a variety of time periods. There are six areas within 10,000 acres identified as top priorities for field school. These identified areas include a petroglyph carving, a possible tipi ring site, a historic farmstead, a two-story stone structure, and a site related to World War II Air Force history. Most of these sites have not been previously documented or researched. There is also the possibility, through survey work, of discovering additional sites. Register online from now until May 29, 2026 at https://bit.ly/reg2026KATP. #kansashistory #KATP #KansasArcheology #archeologysurveys
